Christine Brown has an empowering message for women feeling scared and stuck in their current life situations.
The Sister Wives star, who was the first of Kody Brown's ex-wives to leave the plural marriage, shared words of encouragement and support to help them break free.
"Extra vulnerable post here, but I’m speaking to the women out there who felt like I did—trapped, stuck, and afraid there was no way out," the 52-year-old wrote on Instagram Sept. 2. "I want you to know you’re not alone. I've been there. And I want to encourage you to find ways to choose joy, even when fear tells you to stay where you are."
Christine shared the post almost three years after she announced her split from Kody—with whom she shares children Aspyn, 29, Mykelti, 28, Paedon, 26, Gwendlyn, 22, Ysabel, 21, and Truely, 14—after a 25-year plural spiritual marriage.
"I remember knowing that I had to make changes and the life that I was living wasn't one I had in mind," she said in a video. "And I knew the only person responsible to make those changes was myself. I didn't know how to make those changes and I didn't know what to do and I felt so lost. And I realized that I was making my decisions based on fear."
Christine continued, "And I'm gonna tell you straight up, it's time to make your decisions based on joy. It's time to make your decisions based on hope. There is hope. It's a brighter future, it's a brighter world. It is in your control. There are answers out there, believe me, there are answers. And I believe in you. I know there's better things in store for you."
However since her breakup with Kody—who subsequent split with wives Meri Brown and Janelle Brown and is currently married to Robyn Brown—Christine has found love with husband David Woolley.
"We need some sort of a call to action in order to make our lives better and to improve and improve our financial situation," she said. "My gosh, I've been so blessed to be able to find a source of strength and so grateful for that. So there is hope. There is so much better out there and I believe it in for you. I believe in it for myself and I believe in it for all of us."
Look back at Christine and David's road to marriage...
"I’m excited to be marrying @david__woolley," Christine writes, "he loves spending time with me every day, doesn’t play games with my heart and wants me to be me. #grateful #soulmate #noplayinggames #loveofmylife2w"
The following month, the two tie the knot in Moab, Utah.
"Sometimes a rain shower makes an event somehow better," Christine says. "Thank goodness it stopped after an hour or so though. We loved hanging out with @mitchellton13 and Aspyn for a wonderful evening at #lacaille #rain #blessed #winetasting"
David joins Christine and four of her kids on a trip to England...and Wales, and Scotland and Ireland.
"Thanks for the fun nacho date love!" Christine writes on Instagram. "I feel blessed to have someone to laugh with!"
David says on his page, "Happy Birthday! I love eating nachos with you, My Queen!"
The two announce their engagement.
"I can’t express how amazing it’s been to have David in my life," Christine says. "He’s an incredible man and he treats me like his Queen."
"Life is short, why not take a wonderful weekend get away for some fun new adventures," Christine writes on Instagram. "I love having a partner to go on these fun new adventures with. We could not get enough of the gorgeous views. Utah is a beautiful place, there are so many secrets to explore."
In February 2023, more than a year after Christine ends her 25-year plural (non-legal) marriage with Kody Brown, her Sister Wives costar and father of her six kids, she announces she is in a new relationship.
"I just have to tell you," the TLC star shares on her Instagram Stories, "I am dating someone exclusively."
The reality star, who had at the time had recently moved to Utah with her youngest daughter, continues, "He's wonderful and romantic and so kind and everything I've been looking for, incredible with Truely."
On Valentine's Day, Christine shares her first photo of her new partner. "I finally found the love of my life, David," she says. "The first time he held me close, it felt like my soul took it’s first breath. He’s wonderful and kind, incredible with my children and an adorable grandpa. I never dreamed I could find a love like this."
He writes on his Instagram," My Queen #christinebrown #soulmates #queen"
