Jack Antonoff's trip down the aisle was also a love letter to his roots.
The musician married actress Margaret Qualley on Saturday in Antonoff's home state of New Jersey in a ceremony and reception at Parker's Garage and Bird and Betty's in Beach Haven on Long Beach Island. Photos obtained by People magazine showed the couple decked out in sleek wedding attire for their nuptials: Antonoff in a classic black-and-white tuxedo and Qualley in a white halter dress.
The event was also a star-studded affair that included Antonoff's musical colleagues Taylor Swift and Lana Del Rey, as well as Channing Tatum, Zoë Kravitz and Qualley's mom, actress Andie MacDowell, in attendance, according to social media posts and People magazine. The notables also attended a rehearsal dinner for the ceremony on Friday.
"We don’t get things like that normally," said Beach Haven resident Margery Miller of the celebrity presence. "There are stars here. Ray Romano was here, and one of the Jonas Brothers and Danny Clinch just had a pop-up open reception, but Taylor Swift took it over the top.”
USA TODAY has reached out to Antonoff's and Qualley's representatives for comment.
A crowd gathered outside Beach Haven's the Black Whale, where the rehearsal dinner was held, but Miller — who stopped by — said there wasn't a disturbance.
“There were young girls jumping up and down, and there were a lot of people but it was like the Fourth of July,” Miller said. “Very orderly and nothing out of control.”
Antonoff, 39, grew up in New Milford and Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey, and said he “spent every summer on Long Beach Island” to the Asbury Park Press, part of the USA TODAY network, in a previous interview. The Bleachers frontman's wife Qualley, star of “Maid” and “The Leftovers,” is 28.
